The Problem: Access to Football Data Has Always Been Unequal
The football data industry has a structural problem: professional-grade data has historically only been available to professional-scale organisations.
Enterprise licensing from providers like Opta and StatsBomb is financially out of reach for smaller clubs, independent scouts, and academic researchers. Free sources like FBref and Understat are accessible but require users to do their own modelling work — there’s no ready-to-use rating output, no clustering, no structured report.
Futrix Metrics was designed to occupy the middle ground: model-driven player ratings and role clustering, offered via self-serve subscription to individual developers, independent analysts, and small teams. The pricing structure isn’t designed to maximise revenue per user — it’s designed to make industrial-quality football analytics accessible at every budget level.

The Four Plans
Basic — Free ($0 / month)
| Item | Allowance |
|---|---|
| HTML Scouting Reports | 10 / month |
| API Requests | 5,000 / month |
| Rate Limit | 30 RPM |
| Custom Predictions (Base model) | Included |
Who it’s for: Developers who want to evaluate data quality before committing, or individuals with light-touch querying needs.
No credit card required. Basic is our zero-barrier entry point — anyone can test the API endpoints, verify the data format works with their system, and explore the output before deciding whether to upgrade.

Plus — $9 / month (Most Popular)
| Item | Allowance |
|---|---|
| HTML Scouting Reports | 500 / month |
| API Requests | 15,000 / month |
| Rate Limit | 60 RPM |
| Custom Predictions (Pro model) | 50 / month |
Who it’s for: Independent scouts and football analysts with regular workloads, or developers building small data products.
Under $10 a month covers 500 fully formatted HTML scouting reports and 15,000 API calls. For an independent analyst evaluating 10–50 players per week, this allowance comfortably covers the workload.
Plus also unlocks Pro model custom predictions (50/month) — meaning you can supply richer statistical fields (xG, per-90 metrics, pressure data) and receive higher-precision scores rather than the Base model’s standard output.
For the technical difference between Base and Pro model outputs, see our model design post.
Pro — $15 / month
| Item | Allowance |
|---|---|
| HTML Scouting Reports | 1,000 / month |
| API Requests | 25,000 / month |
| Rate Limit | 80 RPM |
| Custom Predictions (Pro model) | 100 / month |
Who it’s for: Developers building football data applications or internal analytics tools; researchers running batch queries across multiple leagues.
Pro doubles the report allowance and Pro model calls compared to Plus, for $6 more per month. If your workflow involves bulk data retrieval across Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, and Serie A simultaneously, the Pro tier gives you the headroom to operate without hitting rate limits mid-session.

Scale — $29 / month
| Item | Allowance |
|---|---|
| HTML Scouting Reports | Unlimited |
| API Requests | 35,000 / month |
| Rate Limit | 120 RPM |
| Custom Predictions (Pro model) | Unlimited |
Who it’s for: Teams with high-frequency data access needs, companies building commercial football data products, or organisations running multiple concurrent analysis workstreams.
Scale removes the ceiling on reports and Pro model calls entirely. The 120 RPM rate limit supports concurrent processing workflows. For teams that need to embed Futrix Metrics data into their own products or dashboards, Scale eliminates the operational overhead of managing quotas.

Plan Comparison
| Basic | Plus | Pro | Scale | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | Free | $9 | $15 | $29 |

| API Requests | 5,000 | 15,000 | 25,000 | 35,000 |
| Rate limit (RPM) | 30 | 60 | 80 | 120 |
| Pro model predictions | — | 50 | 100 | Unlimited |
Why We Priced It This Way
Why fixed monthly tiers instead of pay-per-use?
Usage-based billing makes costs unpredictable — especially around transfer windows when query volume spikes. Fixed monthly fees let analysts and developers budget in advance and plan their workflows without surprise charges.
Why is Plus the most popular plan?
The typical independent analyst’s actual workload involves a few dozen database queries per day and a few dozen scouting reports per week. The Plus tier comfortably covers that upper bound at a price point that doesn’t require institutional sign-off. That’s why it’s our recommended starting point for anyone moving beyond casual exploration.
Why the $9 → $15 → $29 step structure?
Each step is tied to a natural upgrade trigger:
- Basic → Plus: When you need more than 10 reports/month, or want Pro model access
- Plus → Pro: When report volume exceeds 500/month or you need higher throughput
- Pro → Scale: When team size grows or you’re integrating data into a commercial product
We deliberately didn’t offer “unlimited API requests” at any self-serve tier — unlimited access creates abuse risk, and teams with genuinely large-scale needs are better served through an enterprise arrangement where we can discuss infrastructure requirements properly.
League Coverage
All plans provide access to player ratings and clustering data across:
- Premier League
- La Liga
- Bundesliga
- Serie A
- Ligue 1
Plus additional European leagues across historical seasons. Current league coverage can be queried via the API /charts/leagues endpoint.
